Merry Christmas!
And May All Your Snowflakes Actually Be Snowflakes!

Brings a whole new meaning to
"Thumpity thump-thump, Thumpity thump-thump. Look at Frosty Go."
Who knew?

It's About Time!

Well, I need to repent. It has now been almost a month since my last post, however, as an excuse, I would like to offer that I have been preparing for and taking finals during that time and really found it hard to give up 30 minutes of my studying time to write on my blog about nothing. So here goes. During the last 30 days I have...
  • Finished finals (so far receiving A's in all of my classes (ahem hem hem hem))
  • Done Taebo workouts and have really enjoyed getting all that built-up aggression out of my system.
  • Started an infertility group and blog.
  • Seen Twilight twice (I'm going again with my sister this next week;)
  • Performed in Mt. Hood Community College's Chamber Choir and was embarrassed to be there. (You'd think that for a college audition-based choir they would be good. Nope! They are terrible. In fact, the next time you see me, ask me to do an impression of the choir director. Even if you are not a singer you'll be able to decipher how terrible he is.)
  • Almost finished the basement project, but that WILL get done this Christmas break.
Sadly, I think that is all I have done. I really need to get moving on this whole blogging thing, but I just don't know what to write about. Maybe I'll just start putting some random thoughts or funnies and perhaps they'll inspire some brilliant insight from yours truly.

Woo-Hoo for Wisconsin!! Did somebody say cheese?

Clinton just received an email from The Medical College of Wisconsin accepting him into their medical program next fall!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We still are waiting for an intervew at OHSU, but if nothing happens with that (very doubtful) we at least know that no matter what he is going to be able to start med school next year!!!

We are both so excited to know that the next part of our lives has somewhat manifested itself to us! Clinton has done so well in school and he is so very smart. I am so proud of him!!! I love you Clinton!

Just thought I'd take a second to brag about my honey-bunny! Yipee!

I'm on Cloud 9!!

So I had my first voice lesson since entering college and although I am not a music major I signed up for voice lessons for some extra help. As we were proceeding through my lesson my teacher would give me tips here and there and then he stopped and said, "You know, I don't want you to get a big head, but you have a really good voice." I said thank you and he just slowly shook his head back and forth. I started to get nervous because I didn't know what he was thinking. And then he said, "It is not everyday that you come across someone like you. God was good to you." I was totally flattered!! I again thanked him and then he said, "With just a bit more training you can ride anywhere with your voice" (meaning I could get a full-ride scholarship). I was totally floored at this point, but he didn't stop there. He went on to say that he had taught one other girl who had a voice like mine and she was offered full rides to 2 or 3 different schools! It has hard to hold back the giggles I was so excited! I told him that I wasn't a music major and he said that it didn't matter, that my voice was borderline professional and with a little more work it would be before long. I couldn't believe it!

I know that vocals are a matter of opinion, but I was so glad to hear that he liked mine!! Anyway, needless to say I have been on Cloud 9 ever since, and I'm loving it!!

The Moment You've All Been Waiting For

Can I get a drum roll, please? Uh, I'm still waiting to hear it. Okay, never mind, I'll do it myself, (bdrrrrrrr). Ladies and Gentleman (hushed silence), I HAVE CREATED A BLOG. Now I know that all of you have been waiting for this moment since blogs were created and I apologize for the delay but I am pleased to announce the birth of my blog... The Logan Log! (frenzied applause)

Thank you, thank you!

Yes, it all started the other night when I was trying to fall asleep but some amazing epiphany was preventing me from attaining my blissful slumber. But what could it have been? Oh, yes, a name: The Logan Log--a name so perfect for a blog it could not wait until morning. So, I got out of bed at 12:30am, got my computer and started a blog. I felt so excited about the whole thing, I knew it must be the right thing to do.

So, now I have converted to the blog-side and am hoping to be fully embraced by all it has to offer.

I can't promise that this will be the most rewarding site for any of you at any time, or ever for that matter. I really have nothing to contribute other than my ramblings, but maybe, just maybe my words will mean something to someone at sometime. If not, Oh well! Better luck next time. Sometimes words have to be shared at just the right time and with just the right person, like my Papa did with me when I was 8 years old talking to him about some punk kids at school. I'll never forget those special words he shared with me. "Danell, (yes, he called me Danell) if you ever need to kill someone, just push your hand real hard against their nose until it pushes up inside their brain."

If I get anything across in my blog, I hope it is that message. And may all of you never forget it.
